Spring has sprung!

After a cold, snowy week here in Perugia finally today the temperatures rose and it felt like Spring had finally arrived. Matteo and I went for a walk and I had my first photography 'lesson'. Since starting my blog I've been so inspired by all of the amazing photography I've seen and I was ashamed of my own poor photography skills. So, I decided that it's about time I learned how to take half decent photographs myself. Matteo is really good at understanding the technical side of photography so today he showed me the basics, just enough to get me started. I was quite pleased with the results although I definately need a lot more practise. Here's a few of the pictures from today.

How pretty! I know what you mean about all the amazing pics out there in blog land - I studied photography at university but am now so out of the loop - technology has passed me by. Oh. Your pics are great :) well

Such lovely photos - looks like spring has definitely begun in your part of the world with all those pretty flowers. I wish I was a better photographer too - it's always potluck with my photos. How lucky you have Matteo to give you some lessons. Have a great start to the week x

Beautiful, Sarah Elizabeth! You have done a great job with your photos, and captured spring exploding before your very eyes! I love the butterfly...

Beautiful. And only six weeks before I see similar sights here in North America. I am still waiting for the spring peepers to make the all clear so I can plant my lettuce.

Lots of practice and sometimes I keep a small notebook to show what the settings were ...you did great though! The blossoms are so pretty...

Thanks for all your comments. I like the idea of keeping notes of the settings I use - a good excuse to buy a new notebook!

Lovely photos Sarah Elizabeth. I love them all!
I'm still saving for my new digital SLR camera, I can't wait!
Earlier today I was in a gorgeous little gift store admiring some beautiful notebooks. I was trying to think of an excuse to purchase one, I couldn't come up with a good one today, maybe another day :)
