A gift from a wee bird

This week I was surprised by a late birthday gift arriving from my sweet sister in Australia. I tore open the envelope to find this lovely little package tied up with a pretty ribbon.

Inside were three packets of vintage crochet thread.

My sister definately knows what I like.

The trouble is they are too pretty to use but too pretty not to use! What would you make with these?

My sister has just started a new business called Wee Jennie Wren, customising basic kids clothing using recycled fabric. She'll be doing a guest post here soon. At the moment she's busy with Christmas orders.

Thank you Wee Jennie Wren x x

What a lovely gift - the ribbon around it is so pretty and I look forward to seeing what you make with the thread :)

What a sweet little package, I love how she made it so pretty! Happy Belated Birthday to you! Your sister's shop sounds wonderful!

My son is obsessed with Australia. He asked for a Didgeridoo for Christmas and he walks around speaking in an Australian accent. He is 10 and a hoot!

I just love vintage things. It feels like you're touching history. I'm sure it'll give you so many great ideas.

Lovely thread. I am sure you'll come up with an idea soon and then you can have a great time making whatever it is.

These are gorgeous! I agree, too nice to use, I'd have to just display then in a bowl or something, maybe with some vintage wooden thread spools?
What a pretty gift!
