Christmas Market

Yesterday was a public holiday here in Italy so we spent the day doing Christmassy things. In the morning we put up our Christmas decorations and in the afternoon we headed into Perugia to look round the Christmas market. The centre of Perugia looked beautiful all lit up.
We enjoyed a glass of mulled wine before joining the crowds in the market. There were some lovely things for sale and I got lots of inspiration but I wasn't tempted to buy anything. I didn't manage to get any pictures of the market as it was too busy and crowded to stop for long. Before going home we paid a visit to one of my favourite pasticcerias in Perugia for some hot chocolate. It's called Sandri and has been open since 1860. The interior is beautiful and they make all sorts of mouth watering pastries and chocolates. Going inside is like taking a step back in time.
Altogether it was a lovely day and I now feel much more Christmassy. What have you been doing to get into the Christmas spirit?

Every time I try to get into the Christmas spirit something comes along and knocks it for six. If it's not man problems, it's my ado son. Honestly, it's hard work at the moment!

I was even cross walking around the Christmas market in Montpellier. I usually enjoy that too.

Glad you had a lovely time in Perugia though, it looks beautiful there.

I would love to visit the Christmas market in Perugia. I love Christmas markets but I doubt I would have been as good as you and not bought anything :)Sandri looks like the perfect place to be for some nice pastries.

Yesterdays Bank Holiday seems to signal the start of Christmas here with people putting their Nativity Scenes out, the lights go on and the shop windows are all decorated. Perugia looks pretty all lit up.

What a beautiful day topped off with what looks like a delicious hot chocolate. Perfect!

Those photos are gorgeous! I love that the lights are the focal point in the city scene and the cocoa looks like I could grab it off the page. My orchestra had their holiday concert series last week, so playing Christmas carols all weekend got me in the spirit, and now the tree is up so I'm all set. I'll be adding a trip out for pastries and hot chocolate now for sure. ;) Happy Holidays!

Those lights hanging in the street look so pretty - what a lovely atmosphere it must have been. And 'Sandri' looks like a delightful spot to stop at x

Gorgeous, I'm so jealous! I think I want to run away there! I don't know any Italian though, maybe my 96 year old grandfather could come with me. We are Italian and he would fit right in. Caruso is our name! Maybe we would bump into long lost relatives!

Thanks for stopping by my pit, lol!
