Hello!

It's been so long since I last blogged and I must apologise. I have so many things buzzing around in my head that I want to write about but can never seem to get them into any kind of order. I've considered starting a new blog, a clean page, starting afresh but since I barely find the time to keep one blog going I doubt I'd manage with two! It feels however that this blog doesn't quite 'fit' anymore. It started out as a blog about our home renovation but when that was moving along so slowly it became more about our life here in Italy and bits and pieces of crafty things I did. Now, I've got lots of mummy things I want to blog about such as cloth diapering and baby-led weaning but I'm not sure I want this blog to be all about parenting. I suppose I just need to get back into writing and see where things take me, stop thinking about what people want to read about and just write what I feel like. I think it's a better idea to try and adapt this blog to fit in with my new life rather than trying to start again from scratch. I might consider changing the name though. What do you think? I named my blog after myself when I was starting out as I didn't really know at the time exactly what I was going to blog about. I feel like a change though and would like something that maybe is a bit more descriptive of what I'm all about.

Now for a little Alba update. She is now 9 months old and amazes me more and more every day. I could seriously spend hours just observing her and all her funny little ways. Actually, I do spend hours just observing her which is probably why I don't have so much time for blogging or cleaning my house for that matter. She's a very easy going baby but she does demand my attention a lot, especially when it comes to sleeping. She sleeps in my bed at night and a lot of the time will only nap with me as well. I love all of the baby snuggles but it doesn't leave much time for anything else. I've been tempted to buy various books which seem to have the answer to all kinds of sleep problems but I love having her close to me and value the bond that we have too much to risk breaking it by any kind of sleep training. For now, we're just going with it and hoping that things will sort themselves out eventually.

Finally, here's a picture of the little one with her nonna......

Love to you all, Sarah Elizabeth x x x

I don't know if my comment will appear twice since there was a problem when I hit publish the first time. So here's my comment again.

She is exquisite! Absolutely adorable! Don't change the name of your blog. I love it. It suits who I think you are (because I don't know you in real life)...simple, straightforward and from the heart. Only write when you feel the urge to write. That is when the real you will emerge. Writing when under the "I have to do this" mode doesn't add any depth or feeling to your blog. Enjoy the beauty that is your daughter!

I agree with Wendy! I read this blog because of why you write, if you want to write about BLW or anything else I'll read it, because I like the way in which you write! And I don't care if its sporadic (like I can talk about writing regularly anyway) I'll enjoy it when it appears in my reader :)
Your little girl is beautiful, I'm glad you're enjoying life with her. X

I agree that I wouldn't change the name of your blog - it is after all insights and thoughts from you about your life. I wouldn't hesitate to change the focus of your blog and make it eclectic. I'm an eclectic kind of person and so is my blog. Any time I think I should start focusing more exclusively on decorating which was my original purpose in blogging, then the creative juices leave me and I can't think of anything to write. If I leave it open then I have all kinds of ideas and I figure my readers can read or not as they like.

Hi Sarah Elizabeth, my blog is a little similar - it started as a blog to document our home renovation but that has been so slow that I added in bits about the garden, my art, cooking and so on, so I suppose it's just about me. I don;t think you should worry about what you write about - we will be happy to read it.
My goodness Alba has changed a lot. They grow so fast :)

Alba is such a darling!! So so cute. I'm glad you're enjoying life with your precious girl, even if the sleep part takes a bit of work. Don't worry too much about the baby books, every baby is different and you just need to go with your instinct and what is right and works for you.

As for your blog, I don't think you need to change your name at all (unless you really want to) because this blog is all about YOU and your life and all that it encompasses. I know what you mean about wondering about the focus of your blog, I felt the same for a while. Initially I was blogging about home renovations, decorating etc. and nowadays, I have lots of posts about parenting and life with my girls. However, I've decided I'm okay with that, because although I don't want my blog to be soley about babies, it is a big part of my life. So now I blog about whatever I fancy and all the different parts of what makes up 'me' :) We will all read posts of any topic you write - as much as I'm interested in your home renovations, I'm just as interested in your daily life with sweet little Alba, anything baby related, life in Italy and so on. And don't worry about the time between posts x

Little Alba is adorable. My son used to sleep with us all the time and people kept telling me that he would never sleep by himself etc etc. But, as you said, things just sort themselves out.

It's so nice to see you!
You go ahead and blog about whatever it is that you feel like blogging about, because after all, it's your blog :)
And I think you should keep the name the same x

I'm so happy to see you are back here! And like others said, I think you should go ahead and blog about everything YOU want :) And I'm glad to read about the new life you have, motherhood and babies even I'm not a mom. It's always inspiring to read how people cope with this kind of life changes.

All the best for you and your sweet family xx

Your life in the real world with your gorgeous alba must always come first, you will find your balance with your blogging. Blogs develop and change with you as your life changes an if you are primarily writing for yourself, friends and family which I believe you are I would just go with the flow.
